I'm mapping an existing process and then a revised process. Some of the steps within the process won't change so it would be great to be able to copy and paste a set of cards into the revised process.4 votesAdminMichael Ramos (Admin, Boardthing) responded
Thanks for the suggestion. I certainly understand the need.
I will add this to dev log and if I hear of any hacks coming from our community I will certainly share them with you.
Arriving on Welcome page for first time, I see how to use cards, pen, eraser, images, how to find my saved boards. I drew on that page, Great! Looks good!
But how do I get to a fresh board without all that info on it, where I can put some cards and drawings, and save it with a title?
If the steps for that are on the Welcome page, they are not very obvious1 vote
Every time I make a change to card placement (moving a card out of a parent card, for example), the board has to repaint itself, and each card in the parent group reloads -- very, very, very slowly. It's a huge obstacle in making revisions and working efficiently.1 vote
Allow the board creator to have a few functions like the ability to see which participant wrote which note, sort post its by author etc.
I would love for there to be board creator options that allow teachers to keep the note anonymous to all users, but allow the creator to see who wrote what. Allow the creator to highlight by participant etc.2 votes
Backup your boards (on a cloud environment or with a local import/export tool) so that you can be sure no work will go missing if something were to go wrong.4 votes

Build in accessibility for screen reader users on mobile and desktop. I personally use Apple's VoiceOver on iOS and macO.
Conform to WCAG 2.0 level AA.

If I use <enter> to create a new card, it is created exactly underneath the previous card. But if I move / change a card it's almost impossible to align it again to the previous cards.
Idea: Use a snap function while dragging the card to snap it to other cards or a grid of (for example) 10 x 10 px.
Idea 2: Use this snap function for resizing a card too6 votes
It will be cool to go back to previous board.1 vote
Make the background customizable so we can upload any image (great for educators to upload graphic organizers and other images)1 vote
For each colour, have 3 hues of the colour to allow for for colour coding options.1 vote
Parking lot: some ideas are good but just don't fit on a canvas. It might be a good idea to have a way to tag them for the parking lot or "idea weir"2 votes
Allow for boards to be linked to a sequence or series. Sometimes ideation is non-linear.1 vote
Provide different board layout templates which are customisable. Example I need columns with heading of sprint name and rows which have title of feature and so on10 votes
I am looking to use this more for release planning. I can export stories in text or CSV format get them all placed as cards. Then I can work with team to create visual release plan export in PDF and put it on my team wall. I can export and then get the plan translated into JIRA by putting respective team value. Since the number of stories in JIRA will be high it will be duplication to type all of them in Boardthing11 votes
Federal government agencies are often precluded from using SAAS or other private cloud-based services unless such services have gone through a long and involved certification process [ see https://www.fedramp.gov/ ]. If a small publisher offers a way for the government to host the capability directly or via an already FedRAMP approved cloud service, things happen much more easily and quickly.9 votes
It is really useful that you can export your board and I like the formats available. It would appear that the dot vote tally is not included in the export. Could this be an option?
Many thanks...3 votes
This is a great tool for online courses that have a live meeting as part of the course. We would need an LTI for integration with CAnvas (the LMS we use)1 vote
When you start adding cards with the keyboard they start to stack up one on top of the other.
If the UI allows you to select a group of cards and "arrange" or "distribute" them with some layout, adding cards could be really easy:
- Add cards w/keyboard (ie taking notes in a meeting)
- Select a group of cards
- Distribute --> In a Row (the selected cards are layout in a row one after the other).
It could be another distribution options:
- In a column
- In a grid (you pick the number of cols, rows)3 votes
