The demo video moves to fast to catch how to group and dot vote.
I had to pause the demo video several times to see how to group things (its not clear by just looking at the screen how this is done). I don't think drag and drop on top is inherently intuitive to new users. I also didn't realize the options under the gear menu change once grouped. I had to re-watch and pause the demo video to figure out how to do vote.
We don't think it's a game Whitney. First and foremost it's a tool for putting ideas on a board. We want to be careful about adding anything that distracts from that first goal.
+1 to making features more discoverable. It's a tool, not a game.

Nick - would you mind telling the secrete to dot voting?
I think we need to add some hints to make these things easier for first-time users to discover.
We are working on a "welcome board" for first-time users that will explain what you can do and how.
One of our goals is to make the interface super-simple for first-time users, so we are intentionally "hiding" some of the more advanced functions, although we want to make them discoverable/easy to access for power users. It's a fine line, we know.
